What to Expect
Newborn sessions are ideally scheduled between 5-12 days old and happen either in my home studio located in Belmont, NC or in the privacy of your own home. I highly recommend booking your newborn session as early as possible to ensure a customizable experience.
Props/Wraps
You can give me a color to choose setups with wraps and props for your session or if you have a particular outfit you’d like to bring - you’re welcome to do that as well! When you fill out the questionnaire at the time of booking, you can select your preference on props/colors.
The Studio
I opened my home studio with a goal in mind for new parents to have comfort in a calm & clean environment equipped with everything you need. All you have to do is show up, and I will take care of everything else! The studio is located in a quaint room in the front of my home. There are chairs, a changing area, and water/snacks for your convenience. Everything is clean and sanitized thoroughly before and after each session as the safety of your newborn is my top priority.
Things to Bring:
- Any outfit(s) or special props for photoshoot
- Outfits for baby to wear to/from session
- Change of clothes for parents, just in case
- Diapers & wipes
- Pacifier, baby bottle/milk, or breast pump/breastfeeding items (anything you’ll need to soothe baby during his/her session)

FAQ
How far in advance should I book our newborn session?
I suggest booking 8 weeks prior to your little one’s due date. This will typically ensure availability along with time to order specialty items in enough time for your session (if necessary).
Where are you based?
Newborn sessions are based in my home studio located in Belmont, NC.
If I cancel, will my retainer be refunded?
Things happen! The retainer is non-refundable but can absolutely be transferred to a new session. Please call as soon as possible if you need to reschedule.
When will we get our photos?
Your will receive a proofing gallery within 72 hours of your photoshoot for you to choose your favorites! An online gallery link with all of your edited photos are typically sent within 2-3 weeks (sometimes less depending on the season I photograph your session or number of images). You can download all the photos in the gallery and also share them with family and friends! Be sure to download in high resolution for best printing and sharing quality. If you need your gallery sooner, a rush edit can be added for an additional fee.
What does your editing process look like?
I professionally edit every image in your final gallery to include cropping, color correcting, and exposure adjustments. I professionally edit imperfections, blemishes with a soft retouch, clear the background of distracting objects/people, and even out areas in the image/skin that are necessary. I do not alter weight, adjust natural aging, or alter physical features.

Upon booking, based on the type of session and a general ideas you have I’ll send you over a list of location guides for you to review and choose!
Additional Fees
Make-up services
$100 per person
Add on professional make-up service to your session for $100 per person. Sheena provides natural/soft-glam professional make-up to level up your images!
ADDITIONAL EDITS
$15 per edit
Once your proofing gallery is sent, additional edits can be requested at that time for an additional fee.
Additional people
$25 per person
All of the sessions listed above are for up to 6 people. A $25 per person fee will be added to your session should it apply.
